Lincoln Airport
Wednesday, December 30th, 2009 at 1:06 pmKappa Mapping, Inc. was contracted to collect obstruction data in support of vegetation management planning for the Lincoln Regional Airport (LRG) in Lincoln ME. Based on Part 77 surfaces provided by the client, Kappa designed the flight lines and ground control layout. Survey grade GPS and IMU data were collected during the flight in order to post-process accurate exposure coordinates and rotations for each photo. These data combined with photo measurements and ground control produced a georeferenced terrain model of the airport and vicinity. The 3-D Part 77 surfaces were superimposed in the terrain model to provide the reference for identifying and stereoscopically extracting obstruction candidates. Kappa’s client used these data in their obstruction analysis that supported vegetation management planning.
