State University of New York (SUNY) – Albany Campus
Summer 2007
The Client: State University of New York (SUNY) The SUNY system is the largest assemblage of higher education facilities in the world, with an enrollment of over 800,000 students
The Project: SUNY contracted for an assessment of crucial campus infrastructure – services like water, sewer, and stormwater and irrigation systems. They also contracted for a web-based geographic information system (WebGIS) that would provide easy access to gathered information and to an online campus map in case of emergency – and they needed base mapping to start.
Our Work: Kappa provided the base mapping. We captured detailed planimetric & topographic data photogrammetrically, which was suitable for 1”=50’ mapping with 1’ contours, and we generated detailed color orthophotos. All of this data went into the final deliverable of a GIS, which the Prime Contractor implemented.
Partners: We teamed with Woodard & Curran, the prime contractor.
