The Client: Maine Department of Transportation for FAA
The Project: Airport Obstruction Mapping compliant with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Geodetic Survey (NGS) standards and with guidelines for Instrument Procedure Development (LPV). The standards and guidelines (Advisory Circulars 150/5300 -16A, 17A, 18A) comprehensively address the surveying, mapping, and infrastructure data collection and attribution requirements that support precision approach analysis, design, and certification. Certification enhances the airport’s economic viability by attracting aviation business and by increasing access to the region by air.
Our Work:
We provided photogrammetry support to the Maine Department of Transportation and
- Flight line and ground control layout.
- Aerotriangulation, and reporting required by AC-17A.
- Photogrammetric obstruction mapping based on Obstruction Identification Surfaces (OIS).
- Photogrammetric planimetric and topographic mapping of the airport property.
- Orthophotos of the immediate airport area.
- Assistance with the attribution component of the final delivery (2010).
