Hampden Academy, SAD 22
Hampden, Maine October 2008
The client: WBRC Architects and Engineers of Bangor, design firm for the new school.
The project: Two-phase, $51.6 million project to design and construct a new high school in Hampden, Maine, which is slated to open for the 2012 academic year. Phase I involved site work: utility infrastructure, tree clearing, road maintenance, and the development of new athletic fields. Phase II: build the building.
Our work: KAPPA provided base mapping for engineering design purposes. We captured detailed planimetric and topographic data photogrammetrically that was suitable for 1”=50’ mapping with 1’ contours. We also developed color orthophotos to help engineers visualize the site and be better able to design the new school.
